Make more difficult pieces achievable!
As well as developing general techique and ability it is important to know how to practice well. When going through the lesson material, technical points will be made and how to practice it at home is vital.
MUSIC THEORY
Understanding music
I am able to teach theory and actively encourage Grade 5 theory as a way to develop musical understanding. It also hugely supports GCSE music, although Grade 5 theory isn't needd with all boards I strongly believe in its value.

I am happy to teach pupils of all ages and abilities. Whether it is starting out altogether all the way up to diploma level performances. I am happy to enter pupils for examinations but equally happy to be led and guided by the needs of the student. I can support school work and tailor the lessons to meet your needs.

MY STORY
I am currently a full time Head of Music looking to teach some private pupils piano and/or theory. I am also an active piano soloist and accompanist having worked with Wessex Male Choir, Malmesbury Community Choir and Splash of Red. I am looking to teach pupils of all ages and abilities at my home on my newly acquired Yamaha U1X from 1986.
